OK, first things fuckin' last!
Actor Chris Penn, the younger brother of Sean Penn, has been found dead at his home in Santa Monica, California.Penn, who was in his 40s, starred in Reservoir Dogs as Nice Guy Eddie, as well as Mulholland Falls and Rush Hour.
Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play. A post-mortem examination will determine the cause of death.
Farewell, Chris Penn. We appreciated a piece of prime rib when we saw one.
Let's hear it for the boy.

Wow, that sucks. He was looking awfully bloated these past few (10) years, so maybe it was diabetes or something. Or drugs. Yeah, probably that, but still, that's too bad.

He was a good lookin' man. Both the Penn boys are handsome gents, pretty men who aren't pretty boys. Yeah, and bloat usually means bad living, be it dietary or pharmocological. I have a picture of myself back in '95 when I was living on a bottle of bourbon and a handful of xanax every day-- I was yellow and bloated and looked older than I do now. It's a damn shame when young men do themselves in, but I'll wait on the coroner's report before I make any more petty judgements.

"Penn, who was in his 40s..."
Gulp. Time to start taking care of myself, if it's not too late already.
Got the "anniversary" DVD of Resevoir Dogs a few weeks back at Target for some ridiculously low price. There were a bunch of 10th anniversary interviews, including Penn, and though he'd definitely packed on the pounds he didn't look nearly as bloated as the recent pictures. Curious to hear what may have been going on with him.
And let's not leave out the other brother, the incredibly talented singer/songwriter Michael Penn. Resigned is just an utterly brilliant album, and anyone who references The Prisoner in their artwork deserves a special prize.
